More West Nile Virus in Longview

Three more mosquitos have tested positive for the West Nile virus in the Longview area. The mosquitos were part of a group trapped in the south central part of the city on July 22nd..

The area in question runs from Cotton street to High street to FM-1845. But the health department says the virus is most likely present in mosquitos through the city... and they say spraying pesticide will go on as needed.

"West Nile" is a mosquito born virus that can cause Encephalitis in humans. Although no human cases have been reported locally, experts say the public should take precautions to prevent mosquito bites.
