Buy a soup, give a soup at Chick-fil-a

Released by the Tyler Salvation Army:

TYLER, TX - Every winter season, Tylerites have the opportunity to keep the bowls of the needy filled with warm and tasty Chick-fil-A chicken noodle soup.

For the next 4 weeks, the Troup and South Broadway Chick-fil-A locations will be offering a chance to feed the needy in your community while also feeding your family. Think of your purchase as "Soup for Two" because, when a warm bowl of delicious soup is ordered, Chick-fil-A will donate another bowl of the same delicious soup to The Salvation Army.

This offer is available through February 13th so don't miss out on the opportunity to give. Chicken noodle soup is traditional comfort food especially when the weather is cold, so this is the right time to enjoy it. Beyond the comfort of enjoying a warm bowl of soup is the comfort of knowing that when someone buys a bowl of that soup, they are also providing for the cold, poor, and needy among us. Such is the generosity that Chick-fil-A has shown the people of the Tyler area when matching bowls of soup purchased with bowls given to provide nourishment to the residents and clients of The Salvation Army in Tyler.

The Salvation Army in Tyler knows the need that exists to feed the hungry in our neighborhoods and the role that the 2,500 bowls of soup donated last year through this drive played in meeting those needs. The hope that, through this drive, at least 2,500 bowls of soup will again be donated to The Salvation Army in Tyler to help feed the homeless and destitute is a promise to which we cling. We are hopeful that the Tyler community will come together once again with an even bigger response because we are providing an average of 900 hot meals daily in our kitchen. The Salvation Army in Tyler also operates a mobile feeding kitchen twice a week which serves approximately 400 meals a week to the needy in our community. Currently, close to 29,000 nutritious and hot meals are being served each month at The Salvation Army, which is no small feat indeed, and the generous donation from Chick-fil-A every year to this cause is tremendously helpful.

Chick-fil-A graciously and generously gives to The Salvation Army enough bowls of soup to feed thousands of Tyler residents each year who may otherwise be unable to receive the food and nutrition they need. However, Chick-fil-A and The Salvation Army need the community's participation in order to make any of this work. Without your business, Chick-fil-A won't have any soup to match and The Salvation Army will have no soup to serve to the hungry who come into its kitchen each day. So remember to include lots of delicious Chick-fil-A chicken noodle soup when making your meal plans each week and especially in the next four weeks. The Tyler community continues to be a tremendous blessing, meeting the needs of those in our own community through donations, volunteerism, goods and services, and, every winter through the charity of Chick-fil-A, bowls of soup.
