LA MARQUE, Texas (KTRE) - The La Marque Police Department is investigating the shooting deaths of a married Lufkin couple at a La Marque RV park.
According to a press release issued by the department, officers responded to the scene, located at 1803 Interstate 45. They found Gary Frank Parker, 63, and Kathleen King Parker, 57, dead in a travel trailer.
Police say an employee of the RV park found them in the trailer. They had been living there for several months but are originally from Lufkin. They had stayed at the RV park in the past but were known to travel.
The initial investigation shows the husband shot his wife in the head, then turned the gun on himself and shot himself in the chest.
Police continue to investigate a motive into the shooting and have sent the bodies to the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies.
