A clue in the adult video store shooting

LONGVIEW,TX (KLTV)- Police are now looking for 2 people connected with a deadly Kilgore shooting, and a cell phone call may shed some light on what happened.

"Right now we've got a lot of tips that have come in. We've got a lot of physical evidence we're processing from the preliminary investigation. I believe it was a robbery. Their intent was to go in there and rob the place," acting Kilgore police chief Roman Roberson said.

Just before 25 year old Renee Garrett was gunned down at the Kilgore adult video store Monday morning, police said she made at least two cell phone calls.

"There was a call made by the victim to a relative and there was some audio recovered from her voicemail of possibly the event. There was some indication possibly a struggle took place," Roberson said.

Co-workers can't understand how this could have happened to Garrett.

"It rocked my world. It literally just sunk me. I was actually outside when they found her and I just remember hollering, 'she's okay, she's ok'," store manager and friend Amy Foster said.

Police say it's possible the people they are looking for had been at the store before. They hope someone can give them some clues.

"No matter how insignificant it may seem, it may be the piece we need," Roberson said.

A memorial fund has been set up in Garret's name at Kilgore National Bank.
