ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Angelina County deputies have arrested a Lufkin man during a meth lab bust Monday afternoon. It was the second time in a year they had arrested him on the charges.
Matthew Thomas Havard, 46, is charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of certain chemicals with intent to deliver.
Deputies arrested Havard in Feb. 2010 after conducting a "knock and talk" on the home. Havard was not home at the time, but the sheriff's office charged him with the crime anyway. Sgt. Allen Hill said prosecutors threw out the charges on him because he was not home at the time of the raid.
This time, Hill said, he was home when deputies served the search warrant on the home on Oakwood Drive.
"We found a complete line of all the chemicals and a little finished meth," he said. "We've been able to limit the pills, so they just make a little at a time now whenever they get the pills in."
