Samantha Jordan is no stranger to the great state of Texas. Born and raised in a Top 10 News Market, Samantha knew one day she would be a reporter.
She began to crave the camera's attention at 13 when she hosted a mock version of "The Oprah Show" for a school project. That may have been make believe, but her passion for broadcasting was real.
Lucky for Samantha, the University of Houston was right in her backyard. Taught by real life news reporters, not only did she learn Emmy quality work, she got the inside scoop on the business.
While at U of H, Samantha worked at PBS and interned for the Emmy nominated show "Going Green with Yolanda Green" at KIAH-TV, Channel 39. Her first day at 39, she was immediately put to the test. She did a real report for all of Houston to see! This showed Samantha how fast-paced the news industry really was, and she loved it!
After graduating college in May 2010, Samantha was ready to put her B.A. degree in Broadcast Journalism to work. Two weeks out of school she landed a job in Wichita Falls as a reporter/Telemundo anchor for KAUZ-TV. Despite only being there for a short period, she covered everything from interviewing the Libertarian candidate for Texas governor to the Texas Rangers as they made their way to the World Series for the first time in history.
Samantha couldn't be happier to be in East Texas and is proud to be part of the KLTV news family.
Whether she's in South, North or East Texas, there's nothing better than reporting in her home state.
Samantha loves to travel and learn new languages. She also enjoys running the great trails of Tyler. Samantha doesn't miss the Houston traffic, but admits she'll head home during football season. She's always ready to cheer on her fellow Coogs!
