Annette Falconer joined the KLTV 7 News team December 2010 as a general assignment reporter and anchor. She is thrilled to be in East Texas!
Although Annette was born in Oregon, she has been in Texas since she was a young girl, and has only Texas pride. Annette has lived across the whole state, from El Paso, Houston, and then finally settled in North Dallas. She graduated from Allen High School, "Go Eagles!" She is very happy to add Lindale, "Go Eagles!" on the list of cities she has lived in, and she is already proud to say she is an East Texan.
While attending college, Annette decided to compete in pageants, and won the title Miss Dallas USA 2004. As a titleholder, Annette got involved in serving her community with Habitat for Humanity, Challenge Air, and speaking to youth about making good decisions.
After serving a year in Dallas, Annette decided to do missionary work for her church by serving an LDS mission for eighteen months residing in the Ohio Cleveland area. She was able to learn more about being involved in her community.
After her mission, Annette went to Brigham Young University and graduated with a BA in Communications, emphasis on Broadcast Journalism. While at school, Annette had the chance to report and anchor for BYU Daily News. She also did an internship with ABC 13 in Houston, Texas. She also likes to work on documentaries, and has recently premiered her documentary, "The Life of Shawn Bradley".
Annette is excited to be in the field of Journalism, and feels like this is the most fitting job for her. Annette hopes to please the East Texas communities with her efforts to serve them with fair and accurate news.
When Annette is not at work, she loves to run, eat, snowboard (or wakeboard here in Texas), swim, play tennis, golf, and hang out with her husband Richard. Annette and Richard have run two marathons. She hopes to qualify for the Boston marathon within the next year.
