Tyler welcomes first baby of 2011

By Sara Story - bio | email

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The first Tyler baby of 2011 was born just after midnight at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital.

"No, I had no idea. I didn't think I was going to be the first one, but it's pretty cool that we were the first," Tiffany Holm said.

Her daughter, Lillian Elizabeth Holm was born at 12:26 am, making her the first baby born in Tyler this year. She was due on Christmas Eve, but her mother did not go into labor until New Years Eve around 7 am.

"I think Tiffany would have thought, she would have had it sooner. Go into labor at 7:00, be done at 8:00. But, it's amazing. It is something she will always be able to remember and something she can look back on and stories to tell," Grandma Sandra Holm said.

Tiffany was Sandra's only daughter, and Lillian is her first grandchild.

"It's an amazing process. Tiffany was born an emergency C-section, so I didn't go through any of the labor process myself, and since Tiffany was our only child, going through this was like going through it myself, and it was an amazing experience," Sandra said.

"It's the most incredible feeling in the world to see her, the first time," Tiffany said.

The admiring mother and grandmother said their New Year's resolutions are happiness and health for baby Lillian.

"I hope she finds happiness and joy, and I think she will get it. She's going to have a good mom."

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>

The last time we talked about the Kilgore Bulldogs, quarterback Buddy Jackson and wide receiver Jonathan Shepherd were apart of the 800-meter relay team that won gold at the 2017 state track meet. But today they are back in the pads, and looking to turn their speed into touchdowns.  Competing in District 9-4A, Kilgore has always had a strong run game that helped them become the 2016 District Champs.
