Kilgore PD K-9 tracks wanted burglary suspect

KILGORE, TX - On Monday, December 27, 2010, Kilgore Police Officer B.J. Burns located Bryson Jamar Anthony, 24 years of age, of Kilgore, standing in the 1500 block of Walnut Street, Kilgore, Texas.

Mr. Anthony was actively being sought by the Kilgore Police Department and currently listed as a "Kilgore's Most Wanted" subject due to an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary of a Habitation.

Upon observing police, Mr. Anthony fled into a wooded area. A perimeter was quickly established by Kilgore Police Officers around the wooded area. Kilgore K9 Officer Brady Middlebrooks was called to the scene with K9 Jeroen. Officer Middlebrooks and Jeroen tracked the suspect through a quarter mile of heavy brush. Jeroen located Mr. Anthony at the Kilgore Water Treatment Plant hiding under a large compressor. Mr. Anthony was arrested without further incident.

K9 Jeroen is 9 year old German Shepherd and has been with the Department for six years.

Bryson Anthony is currently incarcerated in the Gregg County Jail charged with Burglary of a Habitation, Hindering Secured Creditors (Smith County Warrant) and Evading Arrest and/or Detention.
