Police searching for suspects in Longview teen shooting

Released by The Tyler Police Department:

TYLER, TX - Investigators are searching for the suspects and suspect vehicle involved in a Christmas Eve shooting that left a 15-year-old Longview girl dead.

Investigators have learned that Nicole Cartwright left Club REO to meet with family and friends, also from Longview, at the car wash on West Bow Street. Once at the car wash a disturbance occured in the parking lot between four females in a gray or blue car with dark tinted windows, possibly a Pontiac, and group of individuals in a red Dodge Challenger.

Shots were fired, striking Ms. Cartwright who later died at a local hospital.

Investigators have determined that Ms. Cartwright was not involved in teh disturbance nor was she in either vehicle.

Authorities are requesting assistance in identifying the females in the gray or blue car, as well as identiftying the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting.

Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime are urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
