Jasper County woman killed in fiery accident on Christmas day

JASPER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) – A Jasper County woman was killed after her vehicle left the roadway and caught fire Saturday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety accident report, a 1995 Ford Taurus was headed northbound on FM 105, seven miles south of Evadale in Southern Jasper County, at 2:02 p.m.

The vehicle, driven by Lea Rose Kassidy, 33, of Evadale, left the roadway and struck a tree, catching on fire.

Kassidy was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:25 p.m. She was traveling alone, and was wearing a seatbelt.
