CUSHING, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches County sheriff's investigators have captured two men whom they believe tried to rob Longview Bank and Trust in Cushing Friday morning.

Around 3:30 Friday morning deputies responded to a bank alarm that had been set off.

According to Sheriff Thomas Kerss, witnesses said the vehicle used in the alleged attempted robbery was spotted at the bank a week ago.

The deputies recognized the car at the scene from surveillance video and began to purse the suspects.

The suspects led deputies on a high-speed chase that ended in Douglas where they jumped out of their car and climbed on the roof of the Douglas school.

Once the suspects jumped off the roof, deputies were able to apprehend one of them.

The other was at large until 8:30 Friday morning where he was found on the Cherokee Co. line.
