Work Injury Leaves Tyler Pipe Employee in ICU

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating yet another accident at Tyler Pipe.

Maintenance worker David Willis was injured while working on a casting machine inside the plant early Tuesday morning. A spokesperson for the plant says, sliding molds inside the machine came into contact with Willis, causing severe chest trauma.

Willis was transported to East Texas Medical Center, where he was last listed in critical condition.

The company released a written statement Tuesday saying, "all of us at Tyler Pipe extend our deepest sympathy and thoughts to the family. Our employees' safety and welfare is our top priority, and we are working closely with authorities to investigate the matter. We will provide updates as more facts are known."
