Injured Deputy Resigns After Internal Investigation

A follow up on the Harrison County deputy who was shot by a prisoner. Judy Cadenhead resigned after an internal investigation of the incident says proper procedures were not followed.

July 11th deputy Cadenhead escorted David Russell to the Marshall regional hospital to check a previous injury. While there Russell fought with the deputy and a hospital security guard before shooting them both. Neither victims were seriously injured. Russell escaped but was later captured in Longview.

Sheriff Tom McCool says Russell should have been wearing leg irons.
