CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police have identified a man who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in northeast Charlotte Thursday afternoon.
The fatality occurred at 2:54 p.m. along the 7600 block of Old Concord Road near Newell-Hickory Grove Road.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Kennard Edward Little, 32, was walking on the tracks and listening to music through headphones.
Amtrak Locomotive #75 was en route from Raleigh to Charlotte with three passenger cars and 52 passengers.
The train struck Little as he walked with his back to the train. He was pronounced at the scene.
None of the passengers on the train were injured during the incident.
