SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Late last night, at 10:30 p.m., a fire broke out at a senior couple's home on county road 21 in Smith County.
Arthur and Tammy Freeman say the fire started from the back of their house...but it didn't take long for the fire to spread. Tammy said, "fire was shooting everywhere, it went all over, in the woods, and everything."
Despite the large flames, Tammy ran back into the house to get shoes and clothing for them to wear. "we lost everything except for what we have on," said Tammy.
The Freeman's are receiving help from red cross and the salvation army. With groceries, furniture, and clothing all gone, the Freeman's could use more help from the community.
If you would like to donate money to help Arthur and Tammy Freeman, you can do so at the American State Bank off highway 64 in Tyler.
