ESL students show appreciation for their community

TYLER, TX (KLTV) – Students in the English as a Second Language programs at the Literacy Council of Tyler will present gifts from their annual toy drive to the US Marines' Toys for Tots on Wednesday.

ESL Program Director Ellie Fischer says, "This is the third year our ESL students have donated toys, Last year was a great success and this year is even better! Our students enjoy the toy drive because it is one way they can give back to the community who they feel gives them so much."

The Literacy Council has three adult ESL locations in Tyler: First Presbyterian Church, Family Learning Center of Tyler and Douglas Elementary School. LCOT has served over 300 ESL students through these programs during 2010.
