Pittsburg woman pleads guilty to theft of public money

MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) – A Pittsburg woman pleaded guilty to theft of public money and health care fraud on Tuesday.

According to information presented in court, Tammye Hollins, 51, devised a scheme to defraud and steal money from the Supplemental Security Income program and Medicaid by making false statements and misrepresentations as to her marital status and sources of income.

As part of her plea, Hollins has agreed to pay restitution in the amount of $35,316 to the Social Security Administration, and $5596.57 to Medicaid.

Hollins could face up to three years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
