TYLER, TX (KLTV) - A Tyler School bus was involved in an accident just before 8:30, Monday morning.
According to police, the school bus driver was attempting to turn left from Hampton Hill Dr. onto Wilderness Rd., when he cut the corner too sharply and clipped a Nissan car.
TISD Public information officer, Angela Jenkins, confirmed that 44 students from Hubbard Middle School and Robert E. Lee High School were on the bus.
Two students were transported to ETMC as a precautionary measure, and have been released.
The rest of the students were evaluated by EMS and transported to their campuses.
The bus driver will have to retrain on defensive driving before TISD will allow him back behind the wheel of a school bus.
The driver has worked as a bus driver for TISD for nearly three years, and has a good driving record.
