TITUS, TX (KLTV) - A fiery head-on collision involving two semi-trucks in Titus County has Hwy 49 shut down between Mount Pleasant and Daingerfield.

The accident happened on Hwy 49 about eight miles south of Mt. Pleasant, just before 5:00 this morning.

Justice of the Peace, Kay McNutt, pronounced two people dead at the scene.

The accident was involving a frozen pizza truck and a chicken rendering truck.

Emergency personnel are still trying to clear the scene. The clearing process could take many more hours.

Motorists in the area should use an alternate route to avoid major delays.
