A very cold night ahead for all of East Texas

By Mark Scirto mscirto@kltv.com

As winds become light and skies remain clear tonight, temperatures will fall very quickly overnight into the lower to middle 20s.

This is the coldest part of the air mass that moved in East Texas on Saturday afternoon.

The cold, arctic air that has the eastern half of the United States in its grip will allow our temperatures to fall to some of the lowest of the season thus far.

We will certainly need to protect our plant and pet tonight along with some exposed pipes. As always, make sure friends and relatives are warm tonight as we are anticipating temperatures to remain at or below freezing for as many as 10 hours in some locations. A significant warming trend is expected through the middle of this week before the next cold front arrives.
