TYLER, TEXAS (KLTV) - An early morning accident on Interstate 20 backed up cars for miles. Troopers tell us 66 year old Victor Quintero of Mississippi was headed East on the interstate.

He'd just passed Jim Hogg Road in Smith County when he hit the guardrail and went flying off the road, into the creek below. It took crews nearly 4 hours to rescue the man from the cab of the truck. Thankfully, no one else was injured.

Drivers crept by in one lane of traffic while clean-up crews lifted the wreckage from the muddy creek. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital.

Both lanes of east bound traffic finally opened back up around 5:30 P.M. Saturday.
