Woman returns home to find roommates murdered

ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A double murder over the weekend remains a mystery.

The bodies of two men were found in an apartment near Royal Palm Beach. On Monday, sheriff's deputies return to the scene of a double murder.

It happened in a third floor apartment at St. Andrews Apartment Complex on Benoist Farms Road between West Palm Beach and Royal Palm Beach.

Sheriff's dispatchers got the call at 7 a.m. Saturday after a woman reports returning home to her apartment to find the bodies of her roommate, 51-year-old James Sicuro and 30-year-old Robert Heffner, dead from gun shot wounds.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's office says it has ruled out a home invasion. That may indicate at least one of the victims knew the attacker. But, so far, detectives have not released any information about a suspect or suspects.

The mother of James Sicuro did not want to go on camera, but, she says, everyone knows her son as "Jimbo". She says he took care of her when she was bedridden.

Heffner's mother says her son leaves behind a wife and 3-year-old child. Heffner worked for a street lighting company. His boss calls him a caring individual and says the local office, where he worked, is closed for the rest of the week because of his death.

Arrangements for both men are pending.

If you know anything about this double murder, call the Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and could qualify for a reward.
