TXU, PATH's "Holiday Cents" brings holiday cheer to Tyler

TXU Energy partners with PATH to educate locals on ways to stay safe and save

WHAT: You don't have to be a scrooge to save during the holiday season. People Attempting to Help People (PATH) and TXU Energy will team up to educate Tyler residents about ways to decorate sensibly, cook efficiently, and keep the cold air out while staying safe during the winter holiday season. Residents will learn how to save money, and more importantly, stay safe through the company's Holiday Cents program.

TXU Energy will deliver LED decorative light strands and informational material to PATH clients about winter holiday season energy saving tips. TXU Energy and PATH employees will also decorate.

WHEN: Wednesday, December 8

10 a.m.- 11 a.m.

VISUALS: Several PATH clients are expected to make their way through the PATH lobby to receive Holiday Cents items. Participants can bring their old decorative lights and TXU Energy will switch them with LED lights.

Also, several energy efficiency decorations will be used to decorate the PATH lobby. TXU Energy and PATH spokespersons will be available for interviews.


TXU Energy will travel state-wide educating consumers on simple and low-cost ways to use less electricity, lower their monthly electricity bills, and help the environment all at the same time. Through the Holiday Cents program, the company will reach thousands of customers. The program will highlight new ways to save and stay safe during a season when bills tend to increase and holiday-related disasters tend to surge.
