TACOMA, WASHINGTON (KLTV) - Flag on the pray... Earlier this week, Ronnie Hastie ran a 23-yard touchdown, got down on one knee, and pointed heavenward to honor God.
It may not seem that unusual, but Hastie's team was penalized for it. The referee called it unsportsman-like conduct. The official decided the "prayer" violated a state athletic rule prohibiting players from drawing attention to themselves.
Hastie said it's something he does all the time. "God gives me the abilities to [play] in the first place," he said. "No one has ever said anything about it."
