Santa makes early, unexpected stop in East Texas tree

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - An Angelina County woman is trying to determine just how a Santa Claus figure ended up in a 30-foot tall tree.

Louise Jackson was walking in her neighborhood on Old Ewing Road in mid-November when she looked up a pine tree and saw a plastic Santa Claus, approximately two feet tall, perched on the tree, looking over the area.

How it got there, Jackson does not know. But she has a theory.

"The only thing I can figure is someone set it on top of a sapling and it just grew and just kept growing," she said.

Or Santa was taking his annual flight through East Texas and decided to take a rest, Jackson said, jokingly.
