Crews work wreck with pin-in in Tyler

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Shortly after 1:00 this afternoon emergency crews responded to an injury accident on Gentry Pkwy and Moore.

Tyler Police tell us Megan Butler, 18, of Marshal was driving a Ford Explorer. Her mother, Kelly Butler, 39, was also in the car. Butler had just turned west onto Gentry from North Grand when she was on the passenger side by a Buick Century.

The Buick was driven by Jimmie Pierce, 70, of Athens.

Butler suffered minor injuries and her mother was transported to East Texas Medical Center with non- life threatening injuries. Firefighters had to pull the woman from the SUV by breaking through the windshield.

Pierce was not injured in the crash. He was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way. Butler was issued a citation for driving without insurance.

Traffic in the area was bottled up while crews worked to clear the wreck.
