One woman died and 5 others were taken to local hospitals after a head-on crash Monday morning. It happened on Highway 31 just east of Brownsboro around 9:30.
The Department of Public Safety says a 1990 white Buick crossed into the oncoming lane. The Buick hit a '99 Ford Taurus head on. All four people in the Buick were unconcious when troopers arrived. A passenger in the Taurus, 53 year old Donna Borden died at the scene.
Maggie Harris witnessed the accident, and was the first person to try to help the victims. "I tried to, but they was all out. They was all passed out when I was there. So, I think you better leave well enough alone, because you might injure someong more."
A firefighter called to the scene was also sent to the hospital, suffering from heat exhaustion.
