TYLER, TX (KLTV) - ETMC has confirmed that Whitehouse High School head football coach and athletic director Randy McFarlin remains hospitalized in critical condition due to injuries resulting from a car accident.
Whitehouse Assistant Superintendent Richard Peacock says McFarlin was in a wreck Sunday afternoon north of Gilmer.
McFarlin was airlifted to ETMC. His wife, son and son's fiancée were sent to Good Shepherd in Longview.
Peacock says McFarlin's son and son's fiancée have been released.
Coach McFarlin is in the ICU at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler after undergoing surgery for internal injuries.
Peacock says the outlook for McFarlin appears good.
"Everything we're hearing points to that," he said. "That everyone will be fine. There's no really life threatening injuries at this time and we expect a complete recovery. Coach McFarlin is an integral part of our district and we're saddened by what's happened."
