TYLER, TX (KLTV) - It is one of the Salvation Army's biggest meals of the year.
Yesterday, The Tyler Salvation Army fed close to 1500 people. Volunteers served out more than 900 pounds of turkey, 400 pounds of dressing, and more that 200 pies.
In Longview, several dozen people were treated to turkey and dressing for their Thanksgiving Day dinner. Many are homeless, or lack the resources to have their own Thanksgiving.
The Salvation Army often provides a meal to families that are seeking help with food, shelter, and a simple kind gesture.
