KNOX COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - The Knox County Coroner's Office released new details into the slaying of three Ohioans who went missing last Wednesday.
According to multiple reports, the Coroner's office said Saturday that Tina Herrmann, her 11-year-old son Kody Maynard and their family friend Stephanie Sprang were all stabbed to death and later dismembered. Each victim was stabbed multiple times in the back and in the chest with a knife.
Their bodies were dismembered and placed into garbage bags then lowered inside of a hollowed out tree along with the family dog in a wildlife preserve in central Ohio.
Suspected killer Matthew Hoffman gave investigators information leading to the discovery of their bodies Thursday.
The sole survivor of the attacks, Herrmann's 13-year-old daughter Sarah Maynard was found bound and gagged in the basement of suspected killer Matthew Hoffman's home on Sunday. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
