By Coleman Swierc

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The entire season was perfect.

And it ended, just that way.

Dom Dwyer scored twice, and Andre Grandt pitched another awesome performance in goal, as the TJC soccer team defeated Cincinnati State 5-1, to win their second straight national championship.

"We have come together, and we absolutely smashed this tourament, there was not anyone close to us, so we just proved that we were #1, and I am very happy," said Kyle Nicholls, who finished the tournament with three assists.

The Apaches ended the year, with an icredible 20-0-1 record.

The sophomore class, did not lose a single game the past two years.

"I did not lose one time over here, it is amazing, I don't even know how it feels like to lose right now," said Grandt.

"We forgot how to lose, really," said Dwyer, the tournament MVP, "Everyone dreams about doing this, we dreamt about it last night, everyone dreamt about scoring in the final, and I managed to score two so I am really happy."

Adding to the celebration, it was midfielder Robin Brown's birthday.

"It is the best birthday present that I could ever wish for, it is a great feeling, love it."

Grandt, Nicholls, along with Brenton Griffiths were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Dwyer was named the MVP, and head coach Steve Clements took home Coach of the Tournament Honors.
