TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler Pounds Regional Airport may have been the most patriotic place in East Texas Monday night, as another local soldier returns home.
Dozens of flag-waving East Texans were there to welcome him, and the new addition to his young family.
First Lieutenant Adam Bryand had the same reaction many of his fellow soldiers had coming out of the terminal at the airport in Tyler.
Bryand says, "I heard a Marine say welcome home Marine. And I said, 'What's going on?' I turned the corner and saw a lot of flags, and it's an amazing feeling."
Lt. Bryand was returning from an 18 month tour in Afghanistan. When the Lindale High School native left, he wasn't a father, but that's not the case anymore.
Lt. Bryand is home for thirty days, then he will get a couple of weeks for Christmas before he has to prepare for another deployment.
