TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Another detention hearing was held for Byron Truvia, Monday.
He remains in custody at the Smith County Juvenile Attention Center, charged with stabbing a John Tyler teacher to death, more than a year ago.
Truvia's attorney filed a motion to have the teenager sent to Vernon State Hospital for mental treatment.
A Psychiatrist has been evaluating Truvia, following the State Supreme Court's ruling he undergo a complete mental diagnostic.
That doctor found Truvia unfit to proceed, and we are told he will head to the state hospital to help become mentally competent.
Last year, mental health experts at Vernon found him mentally competent to stand trial.
