SMITH COUNTY (KLTV) - Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a house fire near Winona Monday night. Tuesday morning, investigators determined the fire started in the kitchen area.
The fire broke out around 6:30 Monday night on Fannin Parkway, off Highway 155 and just south of Winona.
No one was home at the time of the fire, but one firefighter became trapped in the home after he fell through the floor. After about 10 minutes, he was able to be freed and was taken to an ambulance to be treated.
Two other firefighters had to be treated for smoke inhalation, but authorities say they are okay.
Investigators hope to determine the cause of the fire by the end of this week.
