One Longview intersection has been running smoothly for many years. But when the city puts up a stop light, trouble begins.
For nearly a decade, the intersection at Loop 281 and Pine Tree Road has operated with flashing, two-way red lights... each driver stopping at the light before moving on.
But since the Tuesday installation of the new city traffic control system, the intersection has become clogged with motorists. And there have been 2 wrecks in 2 days.
The change is part of the city's street and traffic upgrading. Officers have written several citations to drivers in the area.
