BULLARD, TEXAS (KLTV) - Joe Villa, an Army veteran who served for 22 years, said red, white and blue are the most beautiful colors in the world.

Villa was one of hundreds who lined the parade route in downtown Bullard, Saturday, for the annual parade, honoring servicemen and women, past and present.

"They fought for our freedom," said Kris McCune, 12, of Bullard. His Boy Scout troop marched in this year's parade.

"If Bullard were as big as it's heart, it would be the biggest city in Texas," said Villa.

Michael McKay served in Afghanistan. Today he and his two children stopped by the walk the Wall--a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

"It's important they know where they come from so they know where they're going," said McKay. "If you forget about history, you're doomed to repeat it."
