Some special needs students celebrated Independence Day with a splash Wednesday morning.
Kids at the St. Louis School in Tyler enjoyed some time in the water. Volunteers from Americorps helped by setting up the water field day. In addition to small ponds, kids played with giant bubbles and a spray tent.
St. Louis School Principal, Karen Hacker says the day outside provides a lot of therapy for the kids, just in a unique way. "You see all the bubbles. If they've got a visual impairment, they may be tracking the bubbles and working on that. They may be working on holding the handle that sprays the bubbles. They're out riding their trikes. Its just a fun, fun day for them."
