EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - The sale of alcohol was a hot item on ballots across East Texas, with four communities taking up the issue.
In Whitehouse and Bullard, the outcome of two alcohol propositions was split. Proposition one passed, which will allow restaurants to sell mixed beverages.
However, proposition two failed, which means grocery stores and convenience stores will not be allowed to sell beer or wine.
In White Oak, both propositions were defeated and in Smith County precinct 4, the vote for beer and wine sales for off premises consumption failed by a close margin of 52 votes out of the over 46-hundred votes cast.
