Proud of East Texas: Spirits thrive in Ye Olde Antique Mall

Proud of East Texas; Antique Ghosts

By Joan Hallmark

As soon as you step into Ye Olde City Antique Mall in Tyler you know this is a special place of memories. It seems that spirits of the past think so too. Mall Co-Manager Kim Fuller tells of experiences that she and her Co Manager Sandra Herring, antique dealers, and shoppers have had here.

Tales of a door that constantly swings open by itself , ghostly apparitions in mirrors, wildly cascading paper towels in the bathroom, and a ghostly shopper who constantly collects small round items on the checkout counter, have many eye witnesses. Soon after she came to work at the mall, Kim was bitten on her wrist by an unexplainable source, leaving a set of tiny teeth marks on her skin.

Now you'd think this would drive away those who work at the mall, but they insist that a loving, peaceful feeling fills the historic building and that they get along well with its ghostly residents.
