Released by: The North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority
TYLER, TX - The North East Texas Regional Mobility authority (NET RMA) received notification that the Texas Transportation approved up to $90 million for construction of Segment 3B or Toll 49.
The stretch of road will connect to the segment of Toll 49 that is currently under construction at SH 31 and proceed north to connect with Interstate 20.
In his comments to the Commission, NET RMA Chairman Jeff Austin, III stated that Segment 3B is the most important link of Toll 49 as it will provide an alternate, direct route to I-20 for citizens in Tyler and the surrounding region.
The Chairman said the approval affirms the hard work and partnership that the local communities have put forth toward the Toll 49 project.
