An AWOL soldier who fired upon an East Texas state trooper, gets 25 years in prison. A Marshall jury found 21 year old Thomas Allen Wynne guilty of attempted capital murder of a state trooper. On March 4th, Wynne was fleeing from a traffic stop when he shot at a state trooper, hitting the officer in his shoulder microphone, but not injuring him. Wynne, AWOL from the army, claimed he was only trying to scare the officer when he shot at him. He will be eligible for parole in 12-and-a-half years.
