State District Judge Diane Devasto gets a new post -- that as a judge on the 12th Court of Appeals. Devasto has served in the 241st District Court in Tyler since 1995, and was appointed today by Governor Rick Perry.
As she announced her departure, she had special words for those she's spent most of the last decade alongside.
"The jurors and people who come in and out every day don't realize how hard this work is, and how dedicated all the people at the courthouse are. They need to understand there are some super people working in this building.
Judge Devasto will make the move to the 12th Appeals Court in the next few weeks. Other judges will fill in until a replacement is appointed for the district court bench.
