The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says they'll never know what killed an estimated 15-hundred fish in the Sabine River.
Jon McClendon and his girlfriend discovered the dead fish while sightseeing along the river near the Buckhorn creek. Greg Conley with the Spills and Kills team says he has not found any evidence of toxic pollution. Conley says by the time they were notified, the fish had been dead for at least two days. That's too late, he says, to determine what may have caused the fish kill.
