LONGVIEW, TEXAS – After receiving a record number of nominations, Longview Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that final selections have been made for the women who will be honored as the 2011 Stars Over Longview.
"In August when Longview Regional Medical Center announced that the nomination period for Stars Over Longview had begun, nominations started pouring in. Our Women's Advisory Council, which is made up of 16 local businesswomen, volunteers and activists, had their work cut out for them. They reviewed numerous nominations for 75 praiseworthy candidates," said Kim Brown, Director of Marketing. "The 12 extraordinary women who were chosen to be honored all exemplify a spirit of service and dedication to improving the lives of Longview's citizens and the community as a whole. Longview Regional Medical Center and the hospital's Women's Advisory Council take great pride in presenting the Stars Over Longview Event each year," said Brown.
"The 2011 honorees were selected on October 11, 2010 by the LRMC Women's Advisory Council. These women will be honored at our 11th Anniversary Celebration Event in January as our "2011 Stars Over Longview." The Women Who Rise to the Occasion awards luncheon will take place on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Maude Cobb Activity Center.", she added.
The honorees chosen will also appear on a 2010 Stars Over Longview calendar, which will be made public at the event. The 2011 honorees are as follows:

The keynote speaker for the event will be Dale Smith Thomas. Dale Smith Thomas is an unapologetic optimist and a woman whose passion for making a difference is stamped on every page of her life. Her direct and powerful message has challenged and inspired hundreds of thousands of people around the world to make winning choices in every area of their life.
She is the president and founder of Winners By Choice, Inc. but you may recognize her from one of her many national television appearances. Because of her message and her work she has been a featured guest on The Dr. Phil Show, The Big Idea on CNBC, CMT and she was featured on a documentary on The Travel Channel.
Dale has been inspiring audiences around the world for the past 17 years. Her clients have included Million Dollar Roundtable, McDonald's, Allstate, Northwestern Mutual, The Miss Universe Organization owned by Donald Trump, Turner Broadcasting, Hilton, Sprint and many more. From her rural upbringing in north Mississippi to stages around the world Dale's message continues to Empower, Enlighten and Educate.
Doors for the event will open at 11:30 a.m. and the awards luncheon will begin at noon. Longview Regional will be providing complimentary valet parking at Maude Cobb for the Stars
Over Longview celebration. Tickets are $25 and include a plated, hot lunch catered by Lori's Eats and Sweets of Gilmer. Tickets for the event will be available for sale beginning in November at Longview Regional's Business Office, located at 448 E Loop 281.
