LONGVIEW,TX (KLTV) - Spectacular weather and no distractions spelled big crowds of shoppers for the annual fall sale down highway 80. For 3 days its been its a bargain hunters paradise, along Highway 80 , stretching more than 390 miles, from Jackson Mississippi , through East Texas all the way to Mesquite Texas.
"Its been great the weathers been great we've had a lot of travelers, its gone really well," says highway 80 vendor Sherri Buck.
By all accounts , the annual fall historic Highway 80 garage sale has been a huge success.
"Great couple of days , I've made the money I wanted to make but then its not all about money its about meeting people its and seeing different perspectives," says longtime vendor Terrell Edwards.
Vendors say bargain hunters from near and far came looking for hidden treasures at each stop.
"I saw people from South Dakota , Dallas , Fort Worth , Weatherford," says Edwards.
"I think the weather had a lot to do with it , it was just gorgeous weather cool mornings and we've had a lot of customers," says vendor Kelly Neel.
Past years had been plagued by rain , or efforts to help hurricane evacuees, but this time around was perfect.
"This is one of the best years we've had," says Edwards.
And they're already planning for next year. The sale will be held again in April.
