Van teen charged with capital murder

VAN, TX (KLTV)-  A Van High School student has been formally charged with capital murder in the strangling death of his great-grandmother.

Houston Police arrested Quincy Johnson, 17, Wednesday on charges of forgery after he allegedly cashed a check from 90-year-old Alleen Willis' bank account.

Police say after Johnson was arrested, he confessed to strangling Willis in late September.

According to police, the murder happened in the 700 block of Cherry Bark Oak Drive in Houston. Police say Johnson was living with Willis at the time of the murder.

Police also say after the killing, Johnson moved to Ben Wheeler to live with another grandmother.
