NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police and sheriff's deputies managed to track down a man who they say shot another man in the ankle during a disturbance Sunday evening.
According to the police report, officer responded at 5:30 p.m. to a disturbance which involved weapons in the 1700 block of East Main Street. While they were on the way to the scene, a gun was discharged. Police arrived to find Bakashi White, 22, in the yard of the residence, suffering from gunshot wounds to his ankle.
Police learned White was involved in an argument with Gregory Donnell Porter, 29, of Nacogdoches, who went to the trunk of his vehicle and retrieved a short shotgun and discharged it toward the ground in the direction of White, according to the report.
Porter was located by sheriff's deputies on Henderson Lane in Nacogdoches County. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and a prohibited weapon felony. A .410 shotgun with a pistol grip was recovered.
White was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Bond for Porter was set at $22,500.
