Longview hospital showcasing interactive da Vinci robot

Released by: Longview Regional Medical Center

LONGVIEW, TEXAS -  On Tuesday, October 12th, from 9 AM – 11 AM, Longview Regional Medical Center will be showcasing the traveling interactive daVinci Robot for visitors and staff to experience firsthand. This cutting-edge technology offers patients advantages over traditional surgical techniques with faster recovery times and smaller incisions for procedures such as prostate surgery or hysterectomies. The robot, which is made up of four arms and a control console, is being used in hospitals all across the United States, and Longview Regional is proud to offer this advancement to patients. During the exhibit, visitors will be able to sit at the surgeon's console and try their hand at manipulating the controls of the robot. "Whenever people have a chance to actually try using the robot, they are fascinated," said Kim Brown, Director of Marketing.
