TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Best selling author Sandra Brown is the featured speaker for this years' Texas Rose Festival's "Ladies Brunch", Friday, October 15th at Hollytree Country Club. Although Brown is known around the world for her writing, it was in Tyler, "The Rose City" that she began her television career at KLTV, Channel 7.

Sandra and Michael Brown lived in Tyler from January 1970 to July ' '75. Their two children Rachael and Ryan were born at the city's Mother Frances Hospital.

As part of Channel 7's news and weather team with her husband Michael, Sandra was too immersed in family and work to think much about writing. It was only after the Brown's move to Dallas and Sandra's firing from Channel 8's "P M Magazine", that she started writing.

At first Sandra Brown found success in romance novels, but she hit the big time in 1991 when she had three books on the New York Times Best Seller List at the same time.. Now with 59 best sellers to her credit and book sales around the world totaling over eighty million copies, Sandra Brown has become a rock star in the literary world

Tickets for the Ladies Brunch are forty dollars and are available through the Cowan Center Box Office (903-566-7424)
